Including a full printing of the 13th Amendment ending slavery: “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.” Under the heading of “The Constitutional Amendment,” which includes a list of Senators and Representatives voting in favor as well as the State ratification dates. (pp. 50-52).

And “President Lincoln’s Second Inaugural Address” is printed in full, with its famous closing line: “With malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in, to bind up the nations wounds, to care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan, to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations.” (p. 49).
